There’s nothing more rewarding than a stock that’s moving in a big way, like these following penny stocks have been. In many cases the move may have been overblown, so don’t inherently assume these trends are here to stay. However, they were shakin-n-bakin enough last week to get our attention, so there may be something to them. (Click on the bold company name/ticker heading to view the chart.)

Nevada Geothermal Power Inc. (NGLPF) – The low of 25.7 cents back on March 17th coincided with a hammer-shaped reversal bar, and a rebound all the way up to the current price of 43 cents. In fact, we reached as high as 46.7 cents earlier on Monday, pretty much matching January’s peak. This may be one you want to wait for a good pullback with though, before jumping in (as we can already see).

Beyond Commerce Inc. (BYOC) – Love the surge/hate the surge. If you happened to be in Beyond Commerce Inc. before the move from 50 cents to Monday’s peak of 1.88, go ahead and take what profits you’ve got for what was formerly a penny stock. The slide all the way back to the current price of 1.33 should be taken at face value as a reversal clue (even if temporary).

LifeVantage Corp. (LFVN) – Nice move, and probably one that has some longevity. On the other hand, this leg of the rally is getting a little long in the tooth for this penny stock. If you want in, you may want to wait for a pullback and see if it regroups at or near a key moving average line.

China Energy Corp. (CHGY) – This penny stock shouldn’t be confused with China Energy Recovery Inc. (CGVY), which we’ve covered extensively here at the site. The chart of CHGY speaks for itself – a clear change in direction, and all kinds of room to recovery what was lost last year. You still may want to pick and choose your entry.

Modavox Inc. (MDVX) – Sell it. Just sell it, take your profits, and run.

That's it for now, though the list is always being updated. Be sure to check back tomorrow (and every day) for the next round of trade-worthy or news-worthy penny stocks. Better yet, sign up for the free e-newsletter and get all this information, plus more.

If you’re a fan of trading the SPDR S&P 500 Fund (NYSE:SPY), or any index vehicle for that matter, you may want to put your bearish hat on. It’s no secret that the market’s been sinking for the last few days - we’ve seen plenty of ebb and flow since March. What traders may not [...]

Wow. It’s not too often stocks lose a collective 3% within the first 5 minutes of trading. I suspected we were due for a nasty pullback (the kind of dip I forecasted on Thursday), and sure enough, here it is. The S&P 500 has now given up 4.8% from Thursday’s high. Is this enough to [...]

I hate to be a wet blanket here, but since nobody else seems willing to do it, I’ll put the task on my shoulders. So, here goes - despite the 22% bounce since March 9th, it’s not like the market is out of the woods yet. We still have some barriers to break through before [...]

Yesterday’s gain was touted as being the best gain of the year. Fine, but that’s no big deal. The sellers have been relentless most of the year, so it wouldn’t necessarily be a great feat to be the biggest gain of the year (less than three months) so far. What I’m kind of baffled about [...]

Since we didn't have any new trades last week, we definitely want to add a couple this week to refill some of the ones we carved out a couple of weeks ago. As usual, we've got one bullish pick, and one bearish pick. Advance Auto Parts Inc. (AAP) - Bullish Surprised? Don't be. Advance Auto Parts Inc...

Assuming today's trading is uneventful and we don't make an unexpected move within the next few hours, we're probably going to end the session a little higher than Thursday's closing levels. And, that'll mean a decent 2.0% gain for the week. The situation is not nearly as bearish as the numbers would...

Though stocks slipped back into the red pretty quickly this morning after disappointing employment news was digested, the market should end the day with a decent gain for the week. I still have my doubts about this week's rally though. The buying volume was never all that strong, and we're still overbought...
